The Adventure Begins!

We are off!

The preparations to live away from home for 4 months have felt overwhelming at times. Plenty of “are we really doing this?” moments. We sure hope that all those steps taken will make future travels much easier.

Our “to-do” lists are now irrelevant. Intentional closure is quite freeing yet still bitter sweet.

Touchdown in NZ on March 23rd. We hole up in Auckland the first few days getting our feet on the ground. We relax in an artsy airbnb in Ponsonby and dine on fresh, paper wrapped fish and chips while watching a local cricket practice. Such a strange game!

We then detour far north via bus to Kerikeri for a house sit “meet and greet”. Success! We will be caring for the dogs, Paris (Maltese) and Monte Carlo (Cockapoo), for 3 weeks in July.

Now, moving on to the South Island…
