Tim has a business meeting just outside Phoenix. We consider securing a house sit in the area and are lucky enough to connect with homeowners in Tucson. They have 2 dogs and 3 indoor cats.
Julie can handle the care duties (medications are involved) while Tim has his meetings. The animals prove no problem except for one of the dogs who curiously watches the television and chases moving animals. We are careful what we watch!
On this trip we are able to visit Saguaro National Park and see some interesting petroglyphs. We also visit Tim’s elderly aunt. Just a few months later, she passes away. We are grateful for the opportunity to have seen her.
Although we spend only a brief few hours with the humans in this arrangement, spending time in their home and being entrusted with their animals creates a sort of bond and respect.
Later in the fall of 2017 when Sonoma is devastated by wildfires, these homeowners reach out to us in concern. We are touched.
